Calling all writers/music enthusiasts/ladycore lovers!

The International Girl Gang Underground compilation zine has been inundated with directory listings for a ton of really great bands. We need your help in reviewing them! We’re extending the submission deadline from May 31st to June 30th for all reviews, so if you’ve got a month and a half where you think you can fit in a review to help us out, we’d be eternally grateful!

Here’s the deal:

You choose your top three singers or bands from the list below and send us an email saying, “HEY LADIEZ, I’d like to review these bands!” Please also include your name and contact info, and if you’d like for us to note on this review list that you (and your awesome blog! website! etc!) are reviewing Band X.
We write you back and let you know if your top band is still available for review. (We’re assigning these on a first-come, first-served basis.) If your #1 band isn’t available, we’ll see if your #2 band is available, and so on.
We’ll then send you a link to the band’s Myspace, blog, etc, where you can listen to some tunes and learn more about the band. We can include your name and website/contact info/etc when we update this list, if you’d like—please note this in your email to us!
We’ll update this list at least every other day to let others know what bands have already been grabbed for review.
Once you’ve been confirmed, take the next month and a half (or week, or 15 minutes) to write a thoughtful, fair 100-250 word review that not only discusses the band’s music, but also gives a bit of background info about their local scene, their influences, their politics, etc. We are flexible on word limit.
You send us your review by June 30th, 2010 at 11:59 PST.
